Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions: iSpyCams for BlackBerry smartphones

  • How to access my IP-camera?

Open iSpyCams, go to "My Cameras", press New camera button. Then fill the following fields:
Network address, Port - Here you should type your camera's IP-address and port.
Please be sure to use external IP. Here is the list of IP addresses assigned to local networks:

  • 10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255
  • 172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255
  • 192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255

If you camera has a local IP-address, you may connect to it only when your mobile is inside local network, e.g. via local Wi-Fi.
To access such a camera from outside its local network you may setup port-forwarding for your router. Port forwarding is the act of forwarding a network port from one network node to another. This technique can allow an external user to reach a port on a private IP address (inside a LAN) from the outside via a NAT-enabled router. Please contact your network administrator.

Default port is 80. If you know that your camera uses an other port, please enter it.

Login, Password - If your camera requires authorization, please enter login and password in the fields.

Camera name - Here you can enter your camera's name, for example "My office cam" or "My home cam" etc.

Refresh rate - You may select faster or slower refresh rate. The lower the camera refresh rate, the lower traffic consumption is.

Manufacturer, Model - Here you should select your camera model from the list. If your camera is not listed or you are not sure about the model, you may select "Don't know".
